I did my taxes last weekend and was very happy with the outcome. Having a single income and all the deductions this year has definitely worked in my favor. This is probably the most I can remember getting back. Granted it's really my money that they are returning in the first place, but it still feels somewhat like a gift. Isn't it sad how the government can screw with your head like that?I got an email a day after filing that stated they wouldn't be processing my return until Feb 11th. This is because I claimed education credits and recent tax law changes have delayed these returns for some reason. Whatever. It irritates me a little because I want my money now. Not that I need it next week because I'm flying to the Caribbean or anything, but I just want it. I enjoy putting it into savings and looking at the balance every so often. Call me crazy!! I'm a saver.
Uncle Sam is such a brute.
