Besides showering, eating and doing a quick load of laundry, I spent the entire day working on my marketing project. Serves me right. Although I do work well under pressure, I'm not proud of myself for blowing off the whole Saturday. But, what's done is done and it's not like I had anything else to do today... like go for a walk in the -20 degree winds! Sheesh.
I had to shovel a few monster drifts before the kids came home today. What a treat. The back door and the end of my drive were very high. I bundled up and half way through the drifts I realized that I had to keep my mouth shut. As soon as I opened it to breath my teeth were frozen from the braces! And my nose was running so bad that I had a hard time breathing at all. Just more fun on FDL Avenue.
I had very little sleep last night due to the awful winds. Those damn rattling windows in my room. It sounded as if someone was banging on them with a hammer. At 1am I decided to hit the couch with a few blankets. I slept for crap downstairs because I flip around a lot and being on a narrow couch keeps me so confined. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. The new windows are ordered and expected in 3-4 weeks. Talk about money well spent. Oy.
A big thanks to Bruiz for the chili. It was delicious and kept me happy and warm on this blustery weekend.
Oh, and I think I fell in love last night. I was watching "Sleeping with the Enemy" and Julia Roberts' new beau and neighbor became my hero. Ben wasn't the drop-dead model type, but the guy that he was...he was very much my style. Charming, talented, kind, passionate and a true knight. *heavy sigh*
